When planning construction of this €220m stand-alone human vaccine plant, the client adopted an offsite/modularisation approach from the outset in order to realise significant project delivery benefits in terms of time, cost, quality and reliability.
The modular concept was applied to all elements of the project ranging from the formulation and filling areas to utility skids. FIN carried out the detailed design, manufacture and testing of the LTHW skid in their dedicated manufacturing facility.
The skid includes two 1,500kW low NOx boilers matched with fully modulating gas-fired burners with advanced combustion management to achieve superior operating efficiencies and emissions.
The skid has an on-board BMS control system and is complete with all associated power and field instrumentation cabling.
Following final assembly, a comprehensive Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) was carried out in accordance with a written protocol, agreed and witnessed by the purchaser.
Following receipt of the client’s Permission to Ship, the skid was despatched to site where FIN provided supervision of offloading, positioning, and installation including erection of the flue system.
